The Cruyff Foundation has inaugurated the Cruyff Court Aritz Aduriz Bilbao, the first to be installed in Euskadi. Sports & Landscape has been in charge of the design and execution of the works, as the exclusive partner of the foundation for the assembly of these small football pitches of social value.

Aritz Aduriz, former Athletic Club de Bilbao player; Pati Roura, Manager of the Cruyff Foundation; Xavier Bertolín, Corporate Director of Education and Marketing of “la Caixa” Foundation, and Amaia Arregi, acting Mayor of Bilbao, as well as Ignasi Senabre as manager of Sports & Landscape, have inaugurated this new Cruyff Court, which is committed to sport as a means of inclusion and social cohesion in Bilbao.

This initiative of the Cruyff Foundation is the result of the alliance with ”la Caixa” Foundation for the construction, maintenance and revitalization of a total of 13 Cruyff Courts, prioritizing disadvantaged areas to promote the social inclusion of especially vulnerable children and young people through of the practice of sport. These are small free-use soccer fields that aim to instill values ​​such as responsibility, respect, team play and education in healthy habits to avoid sedentary lifestyle and childhood obesity.

Bilbao is the sixth of the 13 Cruyff Courts that are planned to be created in different provinces of Spain thanks to the joint work between the Cruyff Foundation and ”la Caixa” Foundation, in which Sports & Landscape collaborates.

The works were carried out last November and included the preparation of the base, the assembly of an anti-vandalism perimeter structure and the installation of 600 m2 of state-of-the-art artificial turf.
