The Can Robert park is the setting for the new Cruyff Court in Sitges, which has been sponsored by the FC Barcelona footballer Aitana Bonmatí. She is the first woman to sponsor one of these mini soccer fields aimed at inclusion and social transformation through sport. This project has been possible thanks to the Johan Cruyff Foundation, the FC Barcelona Foundation and the La Caixa Foundation, with the support of the Sitges City Council. Once again, Sports & Landscape has been the exclusive partner for the installation of the field.
Speakers at the inauguration were Aurora Carbonell, mayor of Sitges; Susila Cruyff, president of the Cruyff Foundation; Aitana Bonmatí, godmother of the Cruyff Court; Pati Roura, director of the Cruyff Foundation, and Xavier Bertolín, corporate director of Education and Marketing of the La Caixa Foundation.
On behalf of Sports & Landscape, the manager, Ignasi Senabre, and the Marketing director, Marta Marin, attended the presentation.
The FC Barcelona soccer player Aitana Bonmatí has been in charge of sponsoring the Cruyff Court in Sitges, which is already in operation in the Can Robert park.
The Cruyff Courts are small free-use football fields to promote sports among children and young people with the aim of instilling, through sports activities, values such as responsibility, self-improvement, integration, team play and education in healthy habits, to avoid a sedentary lifestyle and prevent childhood obesity.
There are currently 13 Cruyff Courts in Catalonia installed by Sports & Landscape. They are promoted through agreements between the Cruyff Foundation and the FC Barcelona Foundation and the La Caixa Foundation. In Sitges, there is also the support of the City Council.
