New circular economy project in Sant Llorenç de Morunys

Sports & Landscape is carrying out the work of installing artificial turf in the municipal field of Sant Llorenç de Morunys. It is a circular economy project, since recycled turf from another field is placed, with the economic and environmental benefits that it entails.

The City Council has valued this choice: “It is a true circular economy initiative where we all win, and especially the users of our field”.

“Sant Llorenç de Morunys is a small municipality in Solsonès, with an area of only 4.2 km2 -explains the manager of Sports & Landscape, Ignasi Senabre-. For such a small town it is difficult to finance the costs of a football field with new artificial turf, although this surface is cheaper and more sustainable than natural grass. We are proud to be able to help and make it possible for the youth of this town to play football in conditions, through this project in which we recover and recycle the turf used in another field”.

The installation of artificial turf in the municipal field is one more action carried out by the Sant Llorenç de Morunys City Council to have a sports area, with a total investment in the last two years of more than 240,000 euros. In addition to the placement of reused artificial turf on the soccer field, these works have included a paddle tennis court, a new chlorination system for the pool and improvements to the bowling green, among other actions.
