The Cruyff Foundation and Lloret de Mar City Council have today inaugurated the new Espai Cruyff Court in this town, sponsored by Girona FC player Oriol Romeu. The work has been carried out by Sports & Landscape as the official supplier for the management and installation of these mini football pitches for social use.

In addition to Romeu, the event was chaired by the president of the Cruyff Foundation, Susila Cruyff; the director of the Cruyff Foundation, Pati Roura; the mayor of Lloret de Mar, Jaume Dulsat, and the CEO of Sports & Landscape, Ignasi Senabre.

The equipment has an artificial turf football field and a cricket pitch for the large Pakistani community in Lloret de Mar. Sports & Landscape has also done the paving with artificial turf for the future installation of a workout area.

The space, which is located on Avinguda de Vidreres, is intended to promote sport among children and young people in the town, with the aim of promoting healthy lifestyles. It is a new integrative concept, where several sports beyond football coexist for the social transformation of communities, instilling values such as responsibility, integration, team play and personal improvement.

Both the Cruyff pitch and the cricket pitch and workout area are equipped with premium artificial turf: the specially designed Dynamic Cricket Wicket model, 5mm high blue turf on top of existing turf for the workout area, and artificial turf installed directly on the floor executed in the case of the Cruyff Court.

The mayor of Lloret, Jaume Dulsat, remarked that “this is a social project with sport as a link, which promotes integration and which contributes to strengthening the values we want as a municipality”.

The Cruyff Courts project of the Cruyff Foundation, of which Sports & Landscape is an official supplier, began in 2004 and currently has more than 275 Cruyff Courts around the world.
