Sports & Landscape dismantles the Salou Stadium

The Salou Municipal Stadium must be relocated because it is affected by the opening of the new Barenys canal that is being carried out by the Catalan Water Agency in this town. Sports & Landscape has been in charge of dismantling the artificial turf from the 7-a-side football field, which will be recycled and reused in the new facilities.

The dismantling works have lasted two days and have been carried out following our innovative method of dismantling, recycling and reusing artificial turf, in situ and free of waste. Thanks to this extraction system, the grass is removed in a short period of time, making dismantling an environmentally sustainable process, minimizing cost and energy consumption. In addition, we certify the carbon footprint of the entire process.

This system also makes it possible to recover up to one hundred percent of the infill from the grass, the sand and the rubber, which undergoes a sanitary and drying treatment that allows it to be reused on a playing field.

The 7-a-side football field at the Salou Stadium, inaugurated only three years ago, has completely reused the entire surface.

The recycled artificial turf is stored to be used in future sports facilities, along with other furniture elements.

According to the planning of the Salou City Council, the work to relocate the football fields should begin in the first quarter of 2023, so that they are available for the 2023-24 season. Meanwhile, the council has rented two fields in the private complex of Vial de Cavet so that the more than 700 athletes of all levels who used the Stadium maintain activity this season.
