On behalf of Sports & Landscape, the architect Carlos Rubén Segura has participated in the IAKS Congress held at the FSB fair in Cologne. It is the international forum of the International Association for Sports and Leisure Facilities and brings together half a thousand professionals from 40 countries in the sports and leisure facilities sector.

This year’s event has been held under the slogan “Developing healthy and sustainable communities”, with which our consultancy specialized in artificial turf feel very identified.

During the congress one of the most relevant talks for Sports & Landscape has been the round table of experts on outdoor sports surfaces, in which artificial turf is among the most used and innovative materials for its durability and sustainability benefits.

The impact of climate change and the need to move towards a more ecologically sustainable model have been the main topics of discussion at the congress. The conclusions also include the need to plan sports spaces with a social function in cities, as a meeting point for the community and to promote healthy sports practices in confrontation with sedentary lifestyles. This is precisely the mission of the Cruyff Courts that Sports & Landscape builds for the Cruyff Foundation.
