The event, which took place at the CaixaForum in Barcelona, has been attended by world soccer stars, such as Pep Guardiola and Ronald Koeman, together with the president and director of the Foundation, Susila Cruyff and Pati Roura, respectively, among many others. The manager of Sports & Landscape, Ignasi Senabre, has also participated in one of the round tables.
Sport facilitates the integration and inclusion of children and young people, and therefore becomes a tool for social transformation. This is the maxim of the Cruyff Foundation, which it puts into practice with several projects, including the Cruyff Courts. These small soccer fields that revitalize neighbourhoods represent an open door to new opportunities for these boys and girls, and are the instrument to fight against childhood obesity and a sedentary lifestyle.
The act has included several round tables on sport and inclusion and social transformation, in addition to the preview of a documentary produced by Mediapro and entitled “More than a field”.
More than 250,000 children and young people from all over the world benefit from the projects of the Cruyff Foundation, which has 232 pitches spread over 20 countries. “We want to continue working so that, through sport as a tool for inclusion and social transformation, there are fewer and fewer children and young people at risk of social exclusion”, explained the director, Pati Roura.
