Interest in decorative artificial turf grows in the face of the drought emergency

The drought emergency in Catalonia and other parts of Spain is catapulting the decorative artificial turf market for landscaping and gardening projects. Water restrictions for garden irrigation are a problem that does not affect synthetic grass, which remains always green without having to resort to this scarce resource.

Hence, Sports & Landscape’s decorative turf business line is booming, especially since the signing of the commercial alliance with SYNLawn, the leading American brand in this market, recognized for its high quality and sustainability.

One of the latest landscaping projects that Sports & Landscape has carried out is the installation of SYNLawn decorative grass in the outdoor areas of several communities in Sant Cugat, near Barcelona. Specifically, a 200 square meter green surface has been created with the 35 mm SYNNatural model, which stands out for its biological soy base and its draining quality. In addition, an antistatic and antibacterial treatment is applied to guarantee maximum safety and comfort.

“We are proud to have been chosen by SYNLawn as one of its strategic partners for entry into the European market, and the demand we are receiving confirms that it has been a good choice,” explained Marta Marín, responsible for this line of business at Sports & Landscape.

The representative recently visited the facilities of SYNLawn’s partner in New York, in the Tribeca neighborhood, with the aim of reinforcing the transfer of knowledge regarding decorative grass and sharing experiences with colleagues from the SYNLawn family. It was a very interesting visit, since this company was in charge of designing and installing the decorative turf in Josie Robertson Plaza at Lincoln Center in Manhattan.

Other actions that Sports & Landscape has carried out to reinforce this line of business has been its participation in the radio program “Trotamundos” on Ràdio Estel. Our founder and CEO, Ignasi Senabre, has been interviewed by the program director, Miquel Mercadal, about the sustainable transformation of the sector and the commitment to decorative grass for landscaping projects.

“It is an ecological grass, made with bioplastic polymers, derived from soybeans and sugar cane, which represents a very important step towards the sustainable revolution of the sector that we are leading, and which also has a 15-year warranty,” Senabre explained in his intervention on the radio.
