The project to install Cruyff Courts as a space for social transformation through sport, led by the Cruyff Foundation with the collaboration of “la Caixa” Foundation and with Sports & Landscape as supplier for the installation of the artificial turf, continues at a good pace. Thus, the works of the new mini fields of Sitges and Lloret de Mar, both in Catalonia, are already underway.
The Cruyff Court in Sitges is located in the Can Robert park and will have dimensions of 14 x 22 m. Sitges City Council will be in charge of maintaining the facility and organizing the events, aimed at the school population and also people with different abilities. In both cases, it is a new space for urban revitalization, which promotes the practice of sport and healthy habits to fight against social exclusion and obesity.
Work has also begun on the Cruyff Space in Lloret de Mar, in Girona. It is a complete sports complex, which includes Cruyff Court, a cricket pitch and a workout area. It is a new integrating concept, where several sports coexist beyond football for the social transformation of communities.
Both the Cruyff court and the cricket pitch and the workout area are equipped with top-quality artificial turf: the model Dynamic Cricket Wicket, blue turf 5 mm high for the area of workout, and artificial turf installed directly on the screed executed in the case of the Cruyff Court.
