The Women’s Hockey World Cup, at home and with Polytan
Sports & Landscape has had the honor of attending some of the Women’s Hockey World Cup matches at the Terrassa Olympic Stadium, which have been played on an artificial turf pitch installed and prepared for the occasion by Polytan, the official field supplier in the World Cups and Olympic Games through its Poligras brand.
Representing the company, Ignasi Senabre and Marta Marin have attended the matches together with the representatives of the German multinational Pedro Pinto and Ricardo Lezcano, following the commercial agreement between both companies, by which Sports & Landscape is Polytan’s business partner for Catalonia, Navarra and the Basque Country.
In artificial turf, Polytan stands out not only for being the official supplier of hockey field in the World Cups and Olympic Games, but also for its innovative GT technology, for Green Technology, which allows most of the product components to be bioplastics, derivatives from sugar cane, while the remaining percentage comes from recycled plastic.
This technology has been used at the 2022 Women’s Hockey World Cup, which has been held in July in Terrassa (Barcelona) and the Netherlands.
The Spanish team has managed to reach the quarterfinals of the World Cup, where they have felt to Australia. The Redsticks have closed the championship with an optimistic balance for the coming years, due to the learning that this experience has entailed.
