The manager of Sports & Landscape, Ignasi Senabre, has participated in the inauguration of the first Cruyff Space in Madrid, an installation with soccer 11 and 7 fields located in Colonia Marconi and sponsored by Raúl González.
This new space for transformation and social cohesion has been made possible thanks to the Cruyff Foundation, the “la Caixa” Foundation and the Villaverde Municipal Board, with the collaboration of Sports & Landscape for the construction of the track and installation of artificial turf.
The opening ceremony was presided over by Raúl González, godfather of the field. The participation of the former Real Madrid player and the Spanish national team, who has grown up in this neighbourhood, has generated a lot of interest among children and young people.
The event has also had the participation of the Deputy Mayor of Madrid, Begoña Villacís; the councilor of Villaverde, Concha Chapa; the director of the Cruyff Foundation, Pati Roura, and the head of the Commercial and Educational Area of the “la Caixa” Foundation, Alejandro Fernández, as well as the director of Institutional Relations of Real Madrid, Emilio Butragueño, and the manager of Sports & Landscape, Ignacio Senabre.
The Cruyff Space Raúl González consists of a 20 x 30 m mini soccer field of artificial turf, as well as a space for basketball and futsal and an athletics straight, both with a resin surface, which have also been the work of Sports & Landscape.
The project has the involvement of the Municipal Board, owner of the Colonia Marconi Basic Sports Facility, which will be in charge of maintenance and will participate in the organization of activities.
