The city of Pamplona was affected by serious floods last December, and the San Jorge football field was completely flooded. The artificial turf withstands inclement weather well, but it is not designed to become an Olympic pool, so the surface was damaged.
Sports & Landscape, which was already in charge of the artificial turf installation work on this field in 2020, responded to the call of the Pamplona City Council to rescue San Jorge. The works have consisted of removing mud and other contaminated waste with specialized machinery, transferring it to an authorized landfill and repriming the lawn with new sand and rubber materials. Previously, the urbanization and changing rooms of the facility were cleaned, which had also been left quite dirty after the withdrawal of the river.
The field looks perfect again for the nearly 325 athletes who use it weekly, from the San Jorge Sports Board, from C.D. Navarro Villoslada and C.D. Liceo Monjardín. In addition, the Boscos Football Trophy is held on this pitch, with matches during the weekends for five teams.
