The Girona City Council has renewed the artificial turf of the Germans Sàbat municipal football field, in a work tender that received the offer of nine companies. Sports & Landscape was the winner and the Gironès-Sàbat Football School Club is already enjoying the new surface.

Sports & Landscape has removed the old grass, which had been installed in 2006, and installed 60 mm artificial turf on the soccer field and 50 mm in the adjoining areas, with sand and rubber infill.

The works were carried out on the soccer-11 field, 96 x 53 meters; on the 40 x 20 meter futsal field, and also in a 700 square meter warm-up area for goalkeepers. In total, an area of ​​about 7,000 square meters of state-of-the-art sustainable artificial turf.

The works have been carried out in less than four weeks, and once finished the new surface has been tested in situ under the parameters of the UNE EN 15330-1 standard.

The Councilor for Education, Childhood and Sports of the Girona City Council, Àdam Bertran, has highlighted that this action “allows a qualitative improvement of the sports practice of this facility”.
