Sustainable maintenance of artificial turf soccer fields
Sports & Landscape has carried out maintenance work on the Aldea and Gandesa artificial turf football fields, with the ecological and autonomous robot TurfRob, which reduces carbon dioxide emissions because it achieves maximum energy efficiency.
These two fields were installed a year ago, between December 2022 and January 2023, and for both a Team Master 40 type turf was chosen, installed on a prefabricated elastic base and with an exclusive sand filling, following the latest European regulations against rubber.
The maintenance program designed by Sports & Landscape specialists for the Aldea and Gandesa fields has been conceived with a comprehensive approach to preserve the quality of the artificial turf, but also taking into account environmental criteria, seeking neutrality of CO2 emissions, in accordance with the guidelines of ISO 14001 and the Sustainable Development Goals set by the United Nations 2030 Agenda.
After selecting the desired maintenance program, the TurfRob robot works without supervision, completely autonomously, even at night. Its high-performance battery allows you to track and decompact the infill and brush and straighten the fibers of the artificial turf for hours, resulting in perfect and very precise maintenance, seeking maximum energy efficiency.
With regular treatment with this robot, the life of the field can be extended by up to two years. Furthermore, correct and precise care is key to providing consistent quality for playing conditions, thus ensuring maximum performance and safety of the playing surface.
